Virgin

Virgin means to know you’re of value
just for being yourself,
like a virgin forest.
“I get asked about this a lot”
The Virgin archetype is learning who we are separate from what everyone else expects from us. Here power is defined by how well we know ourselves, be ourselves and support others in doing the same. We start by taking our eyes off the horizon and turning our attention towards our feelings. Here our attention is drawn to our love inspired feelings. This is love in its broadest sense of connection, and its shadow side, disconnection. The love inspired world is not a place for good or bad judgements. Awakening to our state of connection opens the door to reconnection. Whatever we focus on we will generate more of.
The external world becomes a playground for giving our feelings a physical form.
This is quite a shift. We don’t care about productivity in this world. We care about connection to our feelings. It is the journey to feel good in our lives, with a place of real belonging. To have this, we must reveal our authentic self. And to do that we must go on the Virgin journey to reveal who we are to ourselves.
A person who dreams of dancing gets the shoes that allows them to step up to the barr. A person who wants to learn to navigate the world of love, finds someone s/he feels an attraction to and follows that feeling. There is no end goal in mind. It is a voyage of discovery. Our beliefs (including the limiting ones), triggers, and sense of meaning are revealed and given the opportunity for an update. We are creating space for connecting to our soul, our authentic self, our innate talents, and bringing them to life.
Viktor Frankl’s book Man’s Search for Meaning is a powerful example of making the shift from an external to an internal focus. In a Nazi concentration camp, where using heroic power was certain death, he found the door to his internal world. Here he discovered that he has the power to choose which of his many feelings he wants to grow. He chose love-inspired feelings. No amount of oppression could take this away from him once he had this empowerment. It lead to his survival and his ability to lead a joyful and meaningful life after the war.
Power in the world of the Virgin, Lover Goddess and Crone comes from knowing yourself, being yourself, and supporting others in doing the same. The Virgin journey is the profound act of turning your attention inward and knowing yourself.
