Crone

Seeing everything is connected, the Crone has the wisdom of magic, the Trickster, and finds immortality.
The Crone is an old soul that has the wisdom to see the connection of all things including this world and the spiritual real. The boundary between them has become a veil that allows her to move back and forth. From this vantage point, the Crone can see into the soul of people she meets and knows their true potential. She would never live someone’s life for them, but she is happy to knock them out of the rut that feels safe but is actually taking them in the wrong direction. She throw’s things into a person’s path to make them uncomfortable, and give them the opportunity to explore a new direction. Some people fight to get back what they had, while others embrace the potential not before them. She can be a real Trickster that way.
The shadow side of the Crone is the Hag. She uses her magic to lure people off their path and into doing her bidding. I picture a Mrs. Robinson flirting with young men, interrupting their quest to find love and start a family as a prime example of this archetype. S is disconnected from the beauty of this stage of life and instead uses her magic to have people see her as something she is no longer, such as young.Other times the Hag can’t stand to see someone living the dreams she was afraid to explore so she becomes the harbinger of doom.
